Sunit Patel will take over as CFO of Crown Castle, a shared communications infrastructure provider, on April 1. Patel has stepped down from his role on Crown Castle’s Board of Directors, which he has been on since January 2024. For the last four years, he has been chief financial officer of Ibotta, a cashback rewards and mobile technology platform. He was previously executive vice president of merger and integration at T-Mobile, where he led its strategic planning efforts to integrate with Sprint following their $26.5 billion merger.
Media company Gannett promoted Trisha Gosser to CFO. Gosser joined the company in 2007 as a senior financial analyst and was most recently deputy chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance. Before Gannett, she held finance roles at Brunswick Corp. and Mitsubishi Electric, managing operations across accounting and tax. Gosser succeeds Douglas E. Horne, who has been chief financial officer since April 2020. Horne will leave the company on April 1.
Universal Technical Institute named Bruce Schuman as the workforce education provider’s new CFO. Most recently, Schuman was CFO of Vacasa, a short-term rental property management and hospitality company. Before that, he was CFO of Kiavi (formerly LendingHome), a lender to real estate investors, where he drove its IPO readiness initiatives. Earlier in his career, Schuman held several senior finance leadership roles at Intel, including CFO of its enterprise data center business and Intel capital. Schuman replaces Christine Kline, who has been interim CFO since October. Kline will return to her role as chief accounting officer.
Cannabinoid company Cronos Group named Anna Shlimak, its chief strategy officer, as finance chief. Before joining Cronos in 2018, Shlimak was head of investor relations at Quest Partners, a research-driven alternative investment firm. Before that, she held several roles at the New York Stock Exchange in its New York and London offices. Shlimak succeeds James Holm, who is stepping down and will stay with the company through April 18.
The Children’s Place appointed John Szczepanski as the retailer’s new finance chief, effective March 31. Since January 2024, Szczepanski has been the chief financial officer of Vince Holding Corp. Before that, he held several positions over his 18-year tenure at Ralph Lauren, most recently as its CFO of global supply chain, brands, and lifestyle group. Szcepanski will replace interim chief financial officer and chief accounting officer Laura Lentini. Lentini became interim CFO in December 2024 for outgoing finance chief and chief operating officer Sheamus Toal.
