Cemex Posts Q1 Results, Joins Plug Power, Sabre And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Monday

U.S. stocks were mostly higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 200 points on Monday.

Shares of CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. CX rose sharply during Monday’s session following first-quarter results.

The company reported first-quarter net sales of $3.65 million, missing the consensus of $3.80 billion. Net sales fell 7% year over year (Y/Y), mainly due to lower volumes in Mexico. EBITDA declined 18% Y/Y to $601 million in the quarter, with a margin contracted 2.0ppt Y/Y to 16.5% in the quarter.

Cemex expects recurrent yearly EBITDA savings of at least $150 million in 2025 and $350 million by 2027.

Cemex shares jumped 4.2% to $6.16 on Monday.

  • Plug Power Inc. PLUG shares jumped 39.4% to $1.13 after the company signed a secured credit facility with Yorkville Advisors. The company also reported preliminary first-quarter results.
  • CG Oncology, Inc. CGON surged 30% to $29.02 after the company announced that cretostimogene grenadenorepvec monotherapy data was presented at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting.
  • Wolfspeed, Inc. WOLF rose 24.5% to $4.07.
  • Sabre Corporation SABR gained 20.3% to $2.6350 as the company entered into definitive agreement to sell its Hospitality Solutions business unit to TPG for $1.1 billion.
  • Pony AI Inc. PONY rose 17.4% to $8.23.
  • TMC the metals company Inc. TMC gained 15.9% to $3.5350.
  • Rapport Therapeutics, Inc. RAPP climbed 12.6% to $11.96.
  • VEON Ltd. VEON gained 12.2% to $47.83.
  • ADMA Biologics, Inc. ADMA rose 12% to $24.49 as the company announced the FDA approval of its yield enhancement production process.
  • Summit Therapeutics Inc. SMMT gained 10% to $25.79.
  • UroGen Pharma Ltd. URGN gained 10% to $10.85 after the company highlighted nearly four-year duration of response in OLYMPUS long-term follow-up study of JELMYTO.
  • Aurora Innovation, Inc. AUR rose 7.6% to $7.41.
  • Hims & Hers Health, Inc. HIMS gained 6.1% to $29.82.
  • Peloton Interactive, Inc. PTON rose 5.4% to $6.63. Truist Securities analyst Youssef Squali upgraded Peloton Interactive from Hold to Buy.
