Investors on Friday looked to reverse a bit of the fear-trade unleashed when the Federal Reserve put out a disappointing outlook implying only two more rate cuts in 2025, rather than three or four.
The three major indexes clawed back a chunk of what they gave up after the Fed decision. The S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average were each up more than 1%.
But they were still down for the week. The S&P 500 was down 2% in the five days, the Nasdaq shed 1.8%, and the Dow lost about 2.3%.
